A Message from Tumaini Fund USA President
Fall 2017 Message from Tumaini Fund USA President Michael Moore: Our annual Tumaini “Colors of Hope” fund raising event, held at the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club on March 18, 2017, was very successful raising more than $146,000 that night. Other donations for the week of Dr. Susan Wilson’s visit to Southwest Florida brought the total to more than $200,000. That money has already allowed 13 new shallow wells to be built this summer in many villages throughout the Kagera regio

The sewing effort has expanded to include

A Bike for Christmas!
You can enrich an orphans’s life by donating to the Tumaini Fund’s annual bike campaign. For only $100, the Fund can deliver a bike to a deserving orphan in Tanzania. Without a bike, many must walk miles to the closest school. But a bike enables them to get to school in 1/4 of the time it would take to walk, saving precious daylight hours needed for growing their crops & studying (most homes do not have electricity). A bike is also a great help in the daily chore of transp

Water is Life!!
The major theme in reports from Tanzania is water. To date, 13 shallow well and irrigation projects in the Ngara, Muleba, Karagwe and Chato areas, which were funded by Tumaini Fund USA donations, are in process or have been completed. This article summarizes Sarah-Jane Allen’s comprehensive report from the field. The wells bring life and hope to the villages in Tanzania. Many of the old water sources are shared by people, cattle and other animals. As a result, they are filthy
